There are situations when ordinary things are not used for their intended purpose. For example, your TV has deteriorated (problems with sound or image), but you want to watch your favorite TV shows. In this case, the primordially Russian resourcefulness comes to your aid: use a computer monitor as a translator of TV channels.
Necessary
A set of wires (depending on the capabilities of the TV and monitor)
Instructions
Step 1
The instructions for connecting the monitor to the TV require special care - you need to properly understand and analyze what wires are required for this operation. The biggest challenge is that your TV model may refuse to accept a computer monitor for the correct connection.
Step 2
First, we need to identify which connection wires we already have.
The main connection systems should be named:
- VGA (most often it is a blue cable), - DVI (white cable), - normal connection (yellow cable color),
- SCART.
Step 3
Now consider what inputs your TV has. The available inputs can be three options: free HDMI, VGA - component or complex port. In each case, your further work will be different. If your TV has an HDMI input and your computer has a DVI input, then you can organize them and use DVI for the HDMI cable.
Step 4
If both devices have a VGA connection, then there are no superfluous questions at all, since this is an ideal option. If the computer has a VGA connection, and the TV only has an HDMI connection, then it is possible to connect the VGA cable to the DVI converter, and then connect the DVI to the HDMI connection cable. This method can support HD signal.
Step 5
Also note that VGA, component video and DVI cables cannot support TV audio signals. A separate audio cable can connect the sound card to the TV if the HDTV has an audio input.
Step 6
The sound of TV channels can be output to computer speakers or home stereo system. If your computer cannot support video communication, then you need to install a new video card that will work in the desired mode.
