Step 1
A phone officially imported into Russia must be certified. Remember that certified phones on the box contain the CCC and Rostest logos of the Ministry of Communications of Russia, which are applied by typographic method. In addition, it is necessary to check for the presence of the CCC and Rostest logos of the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation under the battery, also applied in a typographic way. These marks are a guarantee of the certification of the phone. When buying a mobile phone, ask sellers to show you Rostest stickers on the phone and confirm their ownership.
Step 2
Make sure that the seller provides a branded guarantee of a certified service center (at least 12 months) with the issuance of a warranty card. Remember that if you buy an uncertified phone, you will be denied repairing your device in Russia. Also, the certification of the purchased mobile is indicated by the presence in the instructions of the address and phone numbers of the representative office of the phone manufacturer in Russia.
Step 3
Compare the IMEI codes printed on the company label (it is located under the battery on the cell phone case) and on the packaging, as well as the IMEI code, which is located in the phone itself. To do this, dial * # 06 #. The phone's serial number (or IMEI code) will appear on the screen. Compare it with the already verified codes on the box and on the case. All codes must match. To determine the certification of the phone, check the IMEI number in the manufacturer's database. The easiest way to do this is to go to the company's website and check the IMEI through an online service. Alternatively, call the manufacturer's hotline and dictate your IMEI to the operator. For example, the Nokia hotline phone is 8 800 700 2222. After a few minutes of verification, you will either be given a confirmation that the phone is legal or not.
