Step 1

Install the satellite dish in a place where it is not covered by high-rise buildings or tall trees, otherwise the TV picture will "crumble" or it will not be possible to pick up the signal from the satellite transponder at all. The bracket and the pillar on which it will be fixed must be fixed strictly horizontally or vertically, respectively.

Step 2

Determine the geographic coordinates of your location. To do this on the site www.maps.google.com in the search bar, enter your city, coordinates (east longitude, east longitude, and north latitude, north latitude). A red marker will appear on the map, right-click on it and select the "What's here?" The coordinates will appear in the "Search" line. For example, Donetsk (Ukraine) has geographic coordinates: 48.028968 E, 37.802582 N

Use the site www.dishpointer.com, where also enter the name of the city or its coordinates. In the drop-down menu below, select the satellite to which you want to tune the antenna. After that, on the satellite map, select your location in the city and click on it. The green ray will indicate the direction of the antenna rotation, and the values in degrees will be shown at the bottom of the map: elevation (angle of inclination of the dish mirror), azimuth (true) (compass bearing), LNB Skew (converter rotation). For example: Donetsk (Ukraine) - setting to satellite ABS 1 75e, elevation: 24.3 deg., Azimuth (true): 134.4 deg., LNB skew: -28.5 ° ("minus" means turn to the right counterclockwise relative to perpendicular to the vector directed to the ground)

Take a compass and turn the satellite dish according to this data. Place the mirror vertically. Release the fasteners slightly and start scanning the sector, moving the antenna left and right. When a signal appears, reach its maximum value and fix it. Adjust the signal strength with the converter and fix it. If no signal is found, lower or raise the antenna one degree after each pass.
