Lighting effects are significantly less eye fatiguing if the switching of light sources is smooth. In this case, the service life of the sources themselves, if incandescent lamps are used as such, is significantly extended.

Instructions

Step 1

Purchase a touch-sensitive dimmer from the market or online auction. Do not confuse it with a touch switch that does not have a dimmer function. A device (ready-made or home-made) made on a K145AP2 microcircuit is also suitable. Regardless of which touch dimmer you choose, it should work according to this algorithm: while the sensor is held, the brightness gradually increases, then gradually decreases, and so on until the sensor is no longer held.

Step 2

Connect the dimmer in series with the lamp to the network. Only an incandescent lamp without a transformer should be used, and its power should not exceed that for which the appliance is designed. Make sure that it works exactly according to this algorithm.

Step 3

Disconnect the regulator from the mains. Connect a resistor with a value of several megohms between one of its terminals and the sensor, having a power of at least half a watt. Plug it back in. Do not touch the sensor this time.

Step 4

The regulator should behave as if its sensor is being held continuously. If this is not the case, turn off the power, switch the resistor connected to the sensor from one terminal of the regulator to the other, and then turn it on again. If this does not help, turn the plug in the outlet. Try all four combinations of plug-in-socket position and resistor connection. When reconnecting the latter, turn off the power to the device every time.

Step 5

Having achieved a smooth blinking of the lamp, place the dimmer in the case, excluding touching its terminals and the sensor.

Step 6

In case it is necessary to force several lamps to blink smoothly, further actions depend on how exactly they should change the brightness - synchronously or out of sync. In the first case, connect them through the same touch-sensitive dimmer. Their total power should not exceed that for which it is designed. In the second case, use separate devices to control each of the lamps, which must first be redone, as described above. Use colored lamps if desired.
