Step 1
Download the iPhone Explorer program from the official website and install it on your computer using iTunes. The utility allows you to see the file system of the phone and perform certain actions with it.

Find a file with a name similar to “[email protected]” (for iPhone 3GS, the file will be named Icon.png). Replace it with the downloaded icon. For iPhone 4, the icon should be 114x114 pixels, while app images in 3GS and earlier models are 57x57.
