Instructions

Step 1

In order to update the firmware on your Apple iPhone, download the ipsw-distribution of the iOS operating system you need. Links to all existing firmwares are posted here:

www.apple-iphone.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5135.

Step 2

Please note that each firmware is designed for a specific model of the device - in other words, iPhone 2G, 3G, 3Gs and 4 have different ipsw files for the same firmware. Download the distribution kit only for your device.

Step 3

After the distribution of the operating system is downloaded, launch iTunes on your computer and connect the phone via a USB cable. If iTunes is not installed on your computer, you can download it for free from the official Apple website

Step 4

Apple iPhone will sync with iTunes library. Once syncing is complete, go to the Summary tab in Apple iTunes. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and at the same time click on the "Restore" button in iTunes. An explorer will open in front of you. Find the folder in which the firmware file is saved, open this folder and double-click on the ipsw file.

Step 5

After that, the process of software extraction and loading (recovery) will appear on the screen in the form of a filling line. Do not disconnect your iPhone from your computer or take any action with your phone until Apple iTunes informs you that the iPhone has been successfully restored.
