Step 1
Connect the camera to your computer. After a while, a characteristic system sound and a message about connecting a new device will appear. For example, the Windows operating system has many preinstalled drivers for various devices, so in most cases it will be able to recognize the camera. After that, you need to click on the icon of the new device, which will appear in the lower right corner of the taskbar. Check the model and manufacturer information for your camera.
Step 2
Update drivers via the Internet if the operating system does not recognize the camera. In this case, when it is connected, the inscription "Unidentified device" will appear. Right-click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop and launch the "Properties" section, where select the "Device Manager" menu. You can also click on the "Start" button, select "Control Panel", where you will find the "Device Manager" icon.
Step 3
Right-click on the top line of the "Device Manager" window, select "Update hardware configuration", then in the menu that opens, find the line with "Unknown device". Click on it with the right mouse button and run the "Update driver" command. After the update is completed, the camera will be recognized by the system and you can view its characteristics.
Step 4
Search the Internet for the Driver Cure software, which will help determine the connected device if the operating system cannot find drivers. Install the app and run.
Step 5
Open the program menu and select the connected device, then click the "Search" button. The application will be in the search mode for a certain time, so it is not recommended to perform any actions on the computer, let alone disconnect the Internet connection. After the drivers are installed, click on the camera link in the toolbar and read the information about the camera model and manufacturer.
