In almost all modern digital cameras for flash, you can set various operating parameters. Despite the differences in technique of different brands, the flash setting is approximately the same in all models.

Step 1
Most modern cameras have several standard photography modes. The main ones are automatic mode (denoted by the letter A), manual, or manual (letter M), shutter priority (Tv or Sv), aperture priority (Av), as well as the so-called scene modes (portrait, landscape, night shooting, macro, shooting in a museum, etc.). The easiest way to remove the flash is to press the lightning bolt button. You may have to press several times until a crossed out lightning bolt appears on the camera screen. But in automatic mode, the ability to turn off the flash is not available in all camera models.
Step 2
If the flash does not turn off in auto mode, try changing the shooting mode. This can be done using the scroll wheel on the top of the camera. As a rule, in all modes except automatic, the flash can be forcibly turned off. An exception may be the night shooting mode, when you have to highlight objects. Conversely, in landscape mode, flash is disabled by default. In addition to pressing the lightning bolt button, the flash can be turned off using the camera's joystick. Press OK and then use the Up, Down, Left and Right keys to select the lightning bolt on the screen. Use the same keys to change it to the crossed out one.
Step 3
In more sophisticated modern cameras, you can reduce the flash output. Select Flash or lightning bolt from the camera menu, and then use the scroll wheel or the Left and Right keys to decrease the flash value. Perhaps this will help you make the picture bright enough, but without overexposure. If people in the photo have eyes that gleam red, select the Anti-red-eye flash mode. Press the lightning bolt button until the eye appears on the screen.
