It happens that in a telephone conversation, one subscriber dictates to another the information to be recorded. Quite often the speed of dictation is such that it is difficult to write down text with a pen or on a computer keyboard. A dictaphone comes to the rescue. The recording made on it can be played back many times and slowly type on the keyboard.
Instructions
Step 1
Before recording a telephone conversation on a dictaphone, be sure to warn the interlocutor about this and get his permission.
Step 2
It is better not to record a conversation on a mobile phone to an external dictaphone. Interference from the transmitter will be heard in the recording louder than the subscriber's voice. Use the built-in voice recorder function - it is available in most modern models. To do this, during a call, go to the phone menu, find the corresponding item in it and turn on the recording mode. At the end of the dictation by the interlocutor of the text you need, stop the recording.
Step 3
If there is no voice recorder function in a cell phone, and you need to get a recording, you can use this technique: turn on the speakerphone in the phone, and place the external voice recorder at a distance of about one and a half meters from the phone. The quality of the recording will be low, but in most cases it will be quite possible to make out individual words. You can also use a radio with a built-in microphone, a computer to which a microphone is connected, or even another cell phone that has a voice recorder function.
Step 4
Using a wired telephone or a DECT device, you can record a conversation on an external dictaphone by bringing it close to the telephone speaker. The recording level, if it can be adjusted manually, should be set so that the amplifier path of the sound recording apparatus is not overloaded (this can be determined by the indication of the indicator, if any).
Step 5
A much better recording than a built-in or even an external microphone will be provided by a device called a telephone adapter. It is a coil containing several thousand turns of thin wire wound on a ferrite core. If the telephone has a matching transformer, the adapter is brought to it, but if not (true for most modern devices), then directly to the speaker of the handset. Connect it to the voice recorder input intended for a dynamic microphone. If the recorder only has an electret microphone input, a microphone amplifier is required. You can collect it, for example, according to the following scheme:

Step 6
The telephone set of the VEF TA-32M model has a linear output. To record a conversation on such a phone, simply connect the dictaphone to this output.
Step 7
Before using the recorded recording in any way, you must again obtain the consent of the interlocutor.
