Someone eventually resigns themselves and uses phones that they can afford, someone takes out a loan in order to finally become the happy owner of the desired handset, and someone buys used phones at discounted prices. In the latter case, there is no guarantee that the phone has not been stolen and is not on the wanted list.

Step 1
Do not buy phones hand-held or in stores if the seller refuses to provide you with documents for it, and even more so if you are offered to buy the phone on the street by strangers. More often, such “sellers” do not even have a charger, which in most cases means that the phone was stolen and, most likely, a couple of minutes ago. When purchasing a used phone in a store, ask the consultant for a written confirmation of the transfer of the device from the former owner.
Step 2
Check the IMEI of the cell phone for wanted. This is a 15-digit number and is most often located under the battery. If the IMEI is not indicated anywhere, then dial the key combination * # 06 # in standby mode, all mobile devices, without exception, display the identification number on the screen after this request. Rewrite it on paper, go to the site blacklist.onliner.by and enter the IMEI number of the device in the window that appears, and then click "Check". This is an open database of wanted phone identification numbers. If the message “Nothing was found for your request” appears, then, most likely, the phone is “clean”. But we must not forget about the likelihood that the former owner has not yet managed to contact the police after the theft and IMEI has not yet been added to the database.
Step 3
If there is nowhere to go to the Internet, then you can punch the IMEI number using the same base by sending a paid message (about 5 rubles, check with your operator for the cost) to 4443 with the text "Interior Ministry space and IMEI number". In response, you will receive a message with information about the past of this phone.
