Unlocking iPhone 3G allows you to install third-party applications and games on it, and also makes it possible to choose any mobile operator as your service provider. To unlock iphone 3G, you need to reflash the device using a special program.
Instructions
Step 1
Connect iPhone to computer and launch iTunes. Back up your phone's contents and write down whatever you want to keep. In the iTunes window, click the Update button and update the firmware to version 2.2.
Step 2
Download and install Quickpwn.
Connect your phone to the USB of your computer and launch Quickpwn. In the program window, select the type of your phone and the firmware to be installed (you can download it from the Internet). Install Cydia or Installer by following the simple instructions during installation.
Step 3
After installing the Cydia or Installer program into the flashed iPhone, add the corresponding application database.
Step 4
Using Cydia or Installer, install the yellowsn0w program. Run the program as soon as the server allows it. Disconnect the phone and remove the SIM card from it, insert another SIM card, the one you will be using. Switch on your phone. The name of the respective operator should appear on the screen. If this does not happen, repeat the whole process over again.
