With the help of the motion sensor, you can control light devices, receive information about the penetration of people into the object. But in order to do all this, you must first connect the device correctly.

Instructions

Step 1

If the motion sensor is intended for direct control of the luminaire and is combined with it, make sure that it is rated for the same voltage as that in the power supply, disconnect the power supply, then remove the cover from the terminal block of the device and connect the wires to the input contacts of the terminal block. If there is an output for connecting additional lighting devices, if necessary, connect them to the output contacts of the terminal block. The additional luminaires themselves, together with the built-in sensor, must have a power not exceeding that for which it is designed. Close the cover, turn on the power supply, then check that the sensor is working properly. If necessary, adjust the timer built into it.

Step 2

Connect a motion sensor intended for direct control of a luminaire, but not combined with it, in the same way, with the only difference that an additional luminaire (or several luminaires) will have to be connected to it.

Step 3

The sensor designed to control low-voltage circuits is more versatile: it can be used both to control luminaires and in alarm systems. But in no case connect lighting devices directly to it: the contacts of the relay built into such a device are very low-power, and the algorithm of their operation does not correspond to the required. There are four contacts on the terminal block of such a sensor, two of which are designed to supply a supply voltage of 12 V (the polarity of its supply is indicated), and the other two are connected to the relay contacts. These contacts are closed when there is no movement and open when moving objects appear.

Step 4

If such a sensor is used to control lighting, connect it to the luminaires through a special external unit. Connect such a unit to the network and the luminaire as described in step 2. Then, from the second, low-voltage terminal block of the unit, lay four wires to the sensor (two of them are designed to supply the supply voltage from the unit to the sensor, the other two - to read the state of the relay contacts) … Observe polarity when applying power. Switch on the power supply only after completing the connection and closing all covers.

Step 5

To use the sensor in an alarm system, place the power supply next to it. Apply power from it to the device in the required polarity. Connect the alarm loop to the contacts of the sensor relay. If there are several sensors, connect their outputs in series so that when the relay contacts of any of them open, the whole circuit will open. Before connecting the sensor, be sure to notify the attendant at the control panel so that he does not perceive your manipulations as a false alarm.
