Periodically recharging the battery will help extend the shelf life of the battery. Experts do not recommend keeping the battery completely discharged - this reduces the battery's ability to hold a charge due to a decrease in the activity of electrolytes. Charge the instrument periodically when not in use to maintain its performance.

However, do not fully charge the battery to store it later. A fully charged battery loses its energy much faster, and with it the performance of the entire device. It is advisable to charge the battery so that the amount of energy in it does not exceed 40-60%.

Do not place the battery in a humid environment. Choose a dry storage location as a humid location accelerates the loss of battery power. Also, do not store the battery in a cold environment, as it slows down electrolytes and the device discharges and comes out of standing much faster. The optimum temperature for the battery is 0 degrees Celsius.

It should be noted that lithium-ion batteries, which are mainly used in modern technology, lose their characteristics relatively quickly. Within six months, if stored improperly, such batteries lose about 10% of their entire resource, and therefore pay attention to the date of manufacture of the battery to determine the approximate life of its service. Most batteries cannot last more than 5 years or fail much earlier.

To use a battery that has been stored separately from the device for a long time, charge it first. Please note that the procedure can be carried out at almost any temperature at which it is possible to keep the operating temperature of the battery itself positive. This means that charging is also desirable at 0 degrees Celsius and above.
