A Nokia mobile phone equipped with a memory card can save photos, voice recorders, downloaded files and applications both to it and to the internal memory. The latter is undesirable, since the volume of the built-in memory is rather small, and in case of wear it cannot be replaced.

Instructions

Step 1

Make sure that there is a memory card in the phone, it is compatible with it, it is in good working order, is oriented in the correct direction in the slot, and the file system in which it is formatted is recognized by the operating system of the phone. If necessary, make a backup copy of the data contained on it, and then format it using the phone itself (in Symbian 9 - "Applications" - "Organizer" - "File manager" - "Memory card" - left subscreen key - "Memory card functions" - " Format"). Immediately after formatting, the OS will automatically create all the necessary folders on the card. In the built-in file manager, some of them will be displayed with names translated into Russian (for example, "Others" - "Other").

Step 2

In a device with a Windows Phone 7 operating system (for example, Nokia Lumia series), after installation, the memory card is formatted into a special file system, after which the data on it is encrypted. At the same time, it and the internal memory of the device form a single whole: where exactly this or that file is saved, the operating system decides. If the card is removed from such a device, it will be impossible to read its contents on another phone, as well as on a computer with a card reader. Most devices will not even be able to format it (the exception is some Nokia phones with Symbian operating system, which can format but not read such cards). If you use a Nokia phone based on Series 40 or Series 60 (the latter are equipped with the Symbian operating system), the memory card removed from the device can be read by a card reader, and when taking pictures, making dictaphone recordings, downloading files or installing applications, it is up to you to decide where the data will be saved.

Step 3

Set up the Camera app so that the pictures are saved to the memory card. To do this, launch this program ("Applications" - "Camera"), then press the left subscreen key, select "Settings", and in the "Used memory" field, select the device with the name that you assigned to the card during formatting. The application “Dictaphone” can be configured in the same way: “Music” - “Dictaphone” - the left sub-screen button - “Options” - the field “Current memory” - the name of the card.

Step 4

To save files downloaded by the built-in browser, as well as by the Opera Mini, Opera Mobile and UC browsers to the memory card, in the Symbian operating system, select the folder (for example, Others) on the E: drive (this is the map) as the save location. The UC browser, if there is a map, will automatically create a folder on it called UCDownloaded and save all files to it.

Step 5

In the Symbian operating system, applications (in JAR, SIS and SISX files) do not start working immediately after downloading - they need to be installed. In order for the archive to be unpacked not into the built-in memory, but onto the card, having received a request during the installation about where to make it, select the name that you assigned to the card when formatting.
