Cleaning the printer head is a must for a long service life. The print quality depends on the cleanliness of the head. Flushing the printer head is a simple procedure. It is not necessary to carry the printer to a specialized service; you can do it yourself, at home.
Instructions
Step 1
Be sure to unplug the power cord before starting work, as this will prevent electric shock.
Step 2
It is necessary to disassemble the printer. Pull out the input tray. Remove the top cover by unscrewing the screws holding it. Apply some force when removing the cover. Be careful not to cut the cable that connects the mechanism to the control buttons. Disconnect the ribbon cable from the board if it prevents the cover from being removed.
Step 3
After removing the cover, you need to pull out the cartridges. To do this, detach the covers of the compartments for them, also detach the locking lever by pressing with your finger at the place of connection with the body. After that, we release the head block. There is a lever on the right under the block, it needs to be turned clockwise downward. Turn it all the way. By this action, we allow the head block to move to a position convenient for us.
Step 4
There are two levers on the front panel of the unit in place for the cartridges; slide them to the right until they stop. Remember their original position. There is another lever on the right panel, turn it clockwise until it stops.
Step 5
Inside the block we will see a spring and a screw. The screw must be unscrewed. Use a Phillips screwdriver. Carefully remove the springs.
Step 6
To flush the printer head, you need to lower it with the nozzles down for 10-12 hours in a special flushing liquid.
Step 7
While the heads are soaking, gently wipe under the head block of the printer. During operation, it becomes very dirty with ink, and in the future this dirt can lead to re-clogging of the heads. Also clean the caps that cover the heads.
Step 8
After "soaking" the heads, dry them.
Step 9
Reassemble everything and print a test page. If you did everything correctly, the print quality will change significantly for the better.
