Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, and sooner or later everything needs to be repaired, changed or adjusted. An identical situation occurs when working with a printer. But if replacing the cartridge according to the drawings in the instructions is not so difficult, then not everyone knows how to properly remove and clean the printer head.

Instructions

Step 1

The first thing to think about is that everything you do with your printer, you do at your own peril and risk. Most companies write a note in the instructions that the printer should not be disassembled, refilled cartridges and other actions by the owner of the printer. He should only use customer support service centers. If you have used refilling kits for the printer, most likely use those. the service will fail, which means that you will have to disassemble, clean and assemble yourself. If you decide to clean the print head yourself, first turn off the printer, disconnect it from the computer and unplug the power cord. Even a “harmless” technique like a printer can injure you if misused.

Step 2

Remove the top housing cover, it is usually held by 4 bolts - two under the paper tray, two on the sides of the paper input tray. Then remove the feeding tray itself. Be careful, the cover is likely to be removed with a little difficulty, but it's best not to overdo it.

Step 3

Free the heads. Lift the cartridges out of the printer and set them carefully on their side. Locate the locking lever that releases the cartridge compartment covers. With two fingers pinch the connection with the body and press the stopper. Locate (usually on the right side) a plastic lever under the head assembly and turn it clockwise all the way down. Then slide the entire block to the left by hand until it is comfortable.

Step 4

Then release the ribbon cable from the groove with the clip located on the outside on the right side of the head assembly. On the front wall of the unit, in the cartridge compartments, there are two identical levers. Slide them all the way to the right, lifting slightly. Be sure to remember their position. Then find another lever on the right side of the head assembly and turn it clockwise, then remove it. Be extremely careful and remember which lever was in which position. The operation of the printer depends on this. Inside the block, you will see a small spring and a screw, unscrew them and carefully remove the springs.

Step 5

All that is left for you is to gently lift the heads, disconnect them from the cable and clean them.

In fact, this action is much easier than it seems, and you will spend less time than reading this manual.
