Currently, personal computers have occupied a very important niche in the life of a modern person. They are not only a tool for work and computing, but also a tool for entertainment. With a computer, you can watch movies, listen to music or sing karaoke. In the latter case, you must first connect and configure the microphone.
Instructions
Step 1
Connect the karaoke microphone to the computer by inserting its output into the corresponding connector on the system unit. If the connectors are different colors, remember that the microphone connector is colored pink. If the karaoke kit also includes headphones, plug them into the green connector.
Step 2
Left-click on the speaker icon in the tray (right side of the taskbar, near the clock). A mixer window will appear with the volume setting of the computer speakers. Click on the speaker icon located above the volume scale to open the "Property: Speakers" window, in which you will need to configure the karaoke microphone.
Step 3
Go to the "Levels" window. If the karaoke microphone was connected correctly, then below you will see the line of its settings. Look at the speaker icon near the "Balance" button, if a red crossed circle is drawn on it, it means that the microphone is currently disabled in the system.
Step 4
Click on this icon to activate the function. Use the volume mixer to adjust the microphone sound. This method of turning on the microphone is described for those who have the operating system Windows 7. If you have an earlier version, the procedure will be slightly different.
Step 5
Connect the karaoke microphone connector to the sound card connector on the system unit. Click on the "Start" button on the taskbar and select the "Control Panel" menu. Find the section "Sound and Audio Devices", then double-click on its icon with the left mouse button.
Step 6
In the window that opens, go to the "Speech" tab and click on the "Volume" button. Select the "Options" - "Properties" section. Below is a list of the various connected audio devices. Find the inscription "Microphone" and put a tick next to it. Click "Ok".
Step 7
Install a special karaoke program on your personal computer. Run it and specify the microphone that was connected in the settings. Start the song and try the microphone in action.
