The webcam has long been indispensable for those who, due to the distance, cannot see their relatives. In addition to video communication with the family, she increases the efficiency of business meetings through video conferencing. And the quality of video calls often depends on the settings of the camera itself.
Instructions
Step 1
To properly set up your webcam, check your microphone settings first. To do this, pay attention to the device connection and look at the webcam cable.
Step 2
If the cable has a USB connector, find the same connector on your computer and connect. If the end of the cable has a junction with a microphone plug, locate the microphone jacks on the computer and insert the plug into the pink slot. Look at the wireless webcam for a transceiver. Then plug into the USB port on your computer and press the small button on the transceiver. Within a few seconds, while the indicator is flashing, press the similar button on the webcam.
Step 3
After you have connected your microphone, check its volume and open the "Control Panel". Select the "Sounds" section and click on the "Advanced" item. In the device mixer that appears, find the volume scale and move the slider to the very top. Uncheck the box next to "Off", if it is there, to turn on the microphone.
Step 4
Use Skype to customize your webcam microphone settings. Launch Skype and click the "Tools" section in the top menu of the program. Select the subsection "Settings" and in the window that opens, go to the "Sound settings" tab.
Step 5
Click on the active link "Microphone" and select the type of connected microphone. After that, uncheck the box next to "Allow automatic settings" and set the volume slider to the required level.
Step 6
Find the link to "Make a test call" in the bottom row of additional functions. Click on it and follow the instructions, recording your voice for a few seconds. Then listen to the recording and check if the microphone volume is selected correctly.
