Navigator is a convenient and mobile assistant for the driver on the road. However, the quality of the preinstalled cards does not always meet the owner's expectations. And if navigators from Garmin and Tom Tom can only work on their own software, then on devices of other manufacturers you can install the maps that you need.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase the required navigator software. It is better to use licensed versions of navigation rather than trying to install free, but illegal maps.
Step 2
Take a blank memory card similar to the one in your navigator. With the help of it, you need to install new cards. If you want to use the memory card used in the navigator, then worry in advance about saving all existing and new data on the computer. If you cannot install new maps, then you can always install standard programs in the navigator.
Step 3
When replacing the installed software with a new one, keep in mind that you must replace it with similar files. For correct installation, each new file must be given the same name as the one being replaced. If the executable file is named XXX.exe, then the new navigation must also be named XXX.exe. Carefully rename all installed files and folders where they are located.
Step 4
Transfer new files to a blank SD card. Insert it into the special connector of the navigator and turn on the device. On the display that opens, press the "Navigation" button. The navigator launches the required programs.
Step 5
The installation files are not enough for the navigators of some companies; an activation key is often required for the maps to work correctly. This is another argument for buying licensed software.
Step 6
Read the instructions supplied with your navigator and installation programs. Some navigator models require additional parameters such as GPS port and file paths. The path to the file can be written using a text editor installed in the navigator.
