Step 1
For the dubbing process, you need a computer, a video capture card or TV tuner with an input for receiving a video signal, a VCR that reads your cassette, and a DVD-RW drive that will help us burn video to disc. You also need to have the necessary software that will receive and transcode the video signal, but it is usually already on the video capture card. First, install the video capture card in your computer and install all the necessary drivers and programs for recording on it.
Step 2
Connect the VCR to the video card according to the instructions for the technique and prepare the cassettes for dubbing. Turn on the cassette in the VCR and the disc recording program on the computer, and press "start" recording. At this time, the video card, having perceived the received analog signal from the VCR, transcoding it using special programs called codecs. The recoded information will be saved in a specific file or several files depending on the format of saving.
Step 3
Wait a while until the video is recorded and saved as a separate file on your computer. As soon as on the monitor appears the inscription "video recording was made", you must press the "stop recording" button.
Step 4
After dubbing, you will be able to watch video from analog media on your computer. If you are satisfied with the playback quality, start a disc burning program such as Nero. Insert a blank CD-disk into the drive, assign it the desired name in an open program and drag all the files to be recorded into the corresponding window. Click "burn", wait until the recording is complete and remove the finished video disc. However, it must be remembered that the quality of the image on the videotape will go to the quality of CD or DVD, in other words, all the noise of the recording during dubbing will remain unchanged.
