Get the highest quality color prints possible. You, of course, can order them in a darkroom, but it is more interesting to print a photo yourself using the capabilities of an inkjet printer. The default print settings are often unpredictable, but you can change them to improve the quality of your home photos.

It is necessary

  • - Jet printer;
  • - scanner;
  • - plugin ProfilerPro;
  • - Adobe Photoshop program.

Instructions

Step 1

Keep in mind that calibrating a printer in the "mid-range" price range will improve print quality to the level that a high-spec technician can deliver. Print any picture with default parameters and compare it with the image on the monitor. Pay attention to the richness of colors: if the appearance of the picture is unsatisfactory, the printer needs to be calibrated.

Step 2

Explore the default settings - on "medium" printers, the color gamut is small. Change print settings that affect color reproduction. Disable auto color correction, keep deviations to a minimum.

Step 3

Install Adobe Photoshop, use the ProfilerPro plugin. Open the program and set the Adobe workspace to RGB. Run the plug-in ProfilerPro, find the corresponding item in the Photoshop menu.

Step 4

In the window that opens, load the color table for the scanner, check the box on the top line. Open preferences and turn off color correction in your scanner.

Step 5

Print the chart, let it dry, then scan. You will get an image with distortion and uneven color transitions.

Step 6

Save the table in tif format, open ProfilerPro and select D. From the scanned image, build a new profile using the standard numerical values of Photoshop colors. Save the created table and restart the utility. Re-print it, set the saved profile. The result is a profile with improved color rendering.

Step 7

Do not judge the color imbalance of a particular printer subjectively. Try replacing the cartridges or using a different paper quality first. In any case, the calibration process for a particular printer is individual.
