Not only computers, but also some TVs are equipped with USB ports. If you connect a USB flash drive with photos to such a device, you can see them on the big screen. You don't need a DVD player or a dedicated graphics card for your computer.

Instructions

Step 1

Select the correct media. Almost any of the modern flash drives will do. You can also use a card reader paired with a card of a format that it supports. If your digital camera is capable of operating in removable disk mode, you can connect it as well. If there is no such mode in the camera, you will have to remove the card from it (when it is turned off) and place it in the card reader, or connect the device to the video input of the TV (the picture quality will be worse). Suitable for connecting to a TV with a USB connector and many players with a flash memory. Under no circumstances should you connect removable hard drives, except for those equipped with external power supplies. Using them could damage the TV. This limitation can be circumvented by using a separately powered USB hub.

Step 2

Check which file system the media is formatted on. Only FAT16 and FAT32 are allowed. File systems NTFS, EXT3 and the like are not accepted by TVs with USB input. If necessary, make a backup copy of the data, format the media to the FAT32 system, and then copy the data back.

Step 3

Connect the media to the USB port of the TV. In this case, a list of folders and files in its root directory should appear on the screen. Use the arrow keys on the remote to navigate to the desired folder and select the file with the Play button. It will be shown on the screen. Press the Stop key to return.

Step 4

In playback mode, you can switch files using the fast forward and rewind keys. If you do not change files for a long time, they will switch automatically after a specified period of time. When the files in one folder run out, the transition to the next will occur, and when all the folders have been passed, playback will start from the first of them. Files and folders are sorted not alphabetically, but in the order in which they are written. Through the menu, you can select the interval for automatic switching of files, and also make them automatically switch not within the entire medium, but within only one folder. The method for performing this operation depends on the model of the machine.

Step 5

Since the TV only reads files from the media, but does not write them to it, there is no need to perform safe erasure (the menu does not even provide a corresponding item). Press the Stop key, wait until the LED of the flash drive or other device stops blinking (it either goes out or stays on continuously), and disconnect the media.

Step 6

Some TVs do not automatically switch to USB mode after connecting the device. Then select the USB mode from the remote control or, if the TV is equipped with a built-in DVD player with a USB port, DVD mode.
