VLC is a universal application for watching videos and listening to audio files. The program can also be used as one of the simplest ways to transfer video from a webcam over a network.

Instructions
Step 1
Organize the transmission of video from your webcam over the Internet using the VLC program. To do this, start the program, select the Media menu, then the Streaming command, or use the Ctrl + S key combination. Then go to the "Capture device" tab. In the "Capture Mode" option, set what exactly you are going to broadcast using VLC: it can be a desktop, i.e. your computer screen or webcam.
Step 2
Click the "Stream" button to configure broadcasting in the VLC program, in the window that opens, click "Next", you will be moved to the "Destination paths" tab. If you want to broadcast video over the network, under New Destination Path, select the HTTP option and click the Add button. To enable the captured video to be streamed locally, select the Play locally check box. This option can be installed to debug broadcasting in VLC.
Step 3
Select the required codec in the next window, if desired, configure it. When finished, click on the "Stream" button. The organization of the broadcast in VLC is completed, your result is available for viewing in any video player, for this you need to go to the address https:// "Your IP": 8080 /.
Step 4
To provide broadcasting of TV channels on the server using VLC, go to the File menu, select the Open Network Stream command, then in the Network tab, set the switch in the UDP / RTP Multicast item, enter the address 224.244.244.244, port 15567. In the Customize item enter udp: //@224.244.244.244: 15567.
Step 5
Organize your video server, to do this, select the "File" menu, and in it the "Wizard" command, select the "Broadcast to the network" option, then define the stream for broadcasting, specify its type and format, for example, MPEG PS / TS. Enter the packet time to live (TTL). Click the Finish button.
