Live broadcast allows you to monitor the progress of certain events in real time. But it also happens that it is necessary to record a live broadcast for the purpose of its subsequent viewing or listening. This operation can be carried out using a computer or specialized devices.
Instructions
Step 1
To record live radio broadcasts to a tape cassette using the radio, insert the cassette into its tape drive. If the radio has two such mechanisms, install the cassette in the one with the record button. Turn off the receiver and find a free space on the cassette. Make sure that the write-protect tab on the cassette is not broken. If so, cover the hole with tape. Turn on the radio receiver again, put the cassette back in place, and then press the record and play keys at the same time.
Step 2
If the recorder and receiver are separate, connect them together with a special cable. Connect it between the line-out of the receiver and the line-in of the tape recorder. It is not recommended to record by holding the tape recorder microphone to the receiver speaker - the sound quality will be extremely low.
Step 3
To record a radio broadcast using a computer, connect the receiver to the line-in jack of its sound card. Unlike microphone, it is stereophonic. On the machine itself, use the Audacity software package.
Step 4
Inexpensive sound cards may not have a line-in. Then use a mic by connecting the receiver to it through a capacitor with a capacity of about 0.1 microfarad. The recording will be monaural.
Step 5
If a signal is recorded from an AM radio station, the radio may pick up interference from a computer. We'll have to spread the vehicles several meters apart. If the computer does not stop influencing the receiver, use the method of recording through a microphone brought up to the speaker. The quality of the recording will have to be sacrificed for the receiver to be able to receive the signal at all.
Step 6
To record a TV program on a VCR, turn on the LF input on the TV or tune it to the channel on which the modulator of the device works. Tune the VCR itself to the desired channel. Insert a cassette into it and rewind it to an empty space. Start recording with the REC button.
Step 7
There are video players with recording function. They differ from VCRs in the absence of a tuner. Connect such a device not only to the inputs, but also to the outputs of the TV. Tune the TV itself to the desired channel. Before searching for free space on the tape, switch the TV to the LF input, and before recording, back to the built-in tuner. Remember that videotapes also have write-protect tabs.
Step 8
To record TV programs on a DVD recorder, insert a disc that has not yet been finalized. On the TV, turn on the LF input, and tune the recorder to the desired channel. Click the record button. Please note that not all devices can view recordings until the disc is finalized, and once finalized, new recordings cannot be added to the disc.
Step 9
To record TV programs on your computer, install a TV tuner and connect an antenna to it. Tune it to the desired channel, then activate the recording function in the program. If due to incomplete software compatibility (for example, in Linux) it is impossible to control the high-frequency part of the tuner, connect the VCR with the tuner so that the video signal is fed to the input connector of the board (RCA or BNC), and the audio signal is fed to the line-in of the sound card.
