One of the main problems of motorists is the problem of freezing glass and mirrors in winter. As a result, they cannot be used for their intended purpose, which can cause accidents. This situation can be solved by connecting heated mirrors to the VAZ.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove the front door trim and sills so that they do not interfere with the routing of the electrical wiring for the heated mirrors. Prepare all the necessary items: screwdrivers, wires, heating element, etc.
Step 2
Start removing the OEM mirrors. Remember that this is a very delicate work, which even experienced repairmen cannot sometimes cope with, since the mirror element crumbles and breaks very easily. Therefore, purchase new replacement mirror elements in advance.
Step 3
Protect your hands from cuts with gloves. Disassemble the control handle and unscrew the self-tapping screws that hold the decorative trims. Using a flat screwdriver, carefully pry off the mirror element. To protect yourself from possible fragments, glue the mirror with wide tape.
Step 4
Remove the mirror hinge from the body using a screwdriver. To disconnect it, you need to make a loop of rope or belt. The hinge is thrown over the hinge, then pull it strongly towards you, holding the mirror body, otherwise you can accidentally tear it off.
Step 5
Prepare the required number of wires for connecting heated mirrors. You will need four wires for the right and left mirrors and two wires for ground. Pull the wires into the slot of the mirror spring lever and connect the contact elements. Assemble the mirror element. In order to fix it, you need to slightly press on the central area until a characteristic click.
Step 6
Install new mirrors and run the connected wires inside the VAZ doors. Remove the negative terminal of the battery, unscrew the safety block and connect the wires, which also run on the button for turning on the heated rear windows. Check the operation of the device and finally put the car interior in order.
