USB sticks and memory cards have become the main musical medium today, leaving cassettes and discs behind in popularity. But such media cannot be connected to all radio tape recorders. Some require some work to be done.
It is necessary
- - car FM transmitter;
- - soldering iron;
- - screwdriver;
- - magnet;
- - markers;
- - insulating tape;
- - toggle switch;
- - drill and drills;
- - file;
- - voltmeter;
- - wires;
- - fasteners, glue;
- - a radio tape recorder that needs to be modified.
Instructions
Step 1
Unplug the radio and open it. After removing the screws, attach them to the magnet so that they are not lost. Find a large electrolytic filter capacitor in her power supply. Connect a voltmeter to it, operating at the limit of 15 or 20 V. Without touching the parts of the radio, turn it on. If the voltage across the capacitor is between 10 and 14 V, the radio is suitable for retrofitting.
Step 2
Open the transmitter and pull the circuit boards out of the housing. The wire that went to the central contact of the cigarette lighter plug is positive, and which to the side contacts is negative. Mark them with markers, lengthen if necessary, carefully insulate the joints.
Step 3
Install the toggle switch on the radio case. Connect the negative wire of the transmitter to the negative terminal of the filter capacitor directly, and the positive wire to the positive terminal of the same capacitor through the toggle switch. The minus terminal is the capacitor terminal, next to which a vertical strip with minuses is drawn on the case.
Step 4
Using a drill, and then a file, make neat holes in the radio cassette of the required shape and location for the indicator, buttons and transmitter connectors. Position the holes so that the transmitter boards do not touch anything after they are secured and closed. Secure these with hardware and glue. Wait for the glue to dry. Close the radio, but do not tighten the screws yet.
Step 5
Plug in the radio. Carefully, so that the housing does not open, turn on the toggle switch - the indicator of the transmitter should turn on. If this happens, finally reassemble the radio by removing the screws from the magnet one at a time and screwing them into the holes provided for them in the case.
Step 6
Switch the radio to FM and tune to a frequency that is free of stations. Use the buttons to tune the transmitter to the same frequency. Insert a USB flash drive or memory card with music files of supported formats into it. Now you can listen to music.
