Instructions
Step 1
Select the connector through which you plan to connect the LCD or plasma TV to the laptop. Mobile computers generally have two types of video outputs: VGA and HDMI. They are designed to transmit analog and digital signals, respectively. Purchase a cable with the correct ports.
Step 2
Connect the laptop to the LCD TV using a purchased cable and suitable connectors. Turn on your laptop and TV. Wait for both devices to boot up.
Step 3
Go to the settings menu of your TV. Find the item "Signal source" and indicate in it the connector through which you made the connection. Now go to laptop setup.
Step 4
Open Control Panel and go to the Appearance and Personalization menu. Open the "Screen" menu and click on the "Configure screen settings" item. Click the Find button next to the monitor image. After identifying the second display (TV), select the setting options.
Step 5
There are two main algorithms for image adjustment. If you plan to use your TV to view the required items on a large screen, then open the screen settings and select "Duplicate screens". Usually this item is used when connecting projectors and making presentations.
Step 6
To be able to synchronously use the laptop screen and the TV independently of each other, select Expand Screen. Do not forget to specify the main screen in advance (it is better to use the laptop display for this purpose).
Step 7
Now when you move the cursor outside the laptop desktop (left or right), it will jump to the TV screen. You can bring the video player or other background programs you want there.
