Step 1
Start by choosing the right firmware. It is better to download these files from the official website of the mobile phone developers. In addition, it is possible to find verified firmware on popular forums dedicated to Nokia devices.
Step 2
Install the drivers required to connect your phone to your computer. In this case, we are talking about files that provide synchronization with a PC with the device turned off.
Step 3
Prepare your mobile phone and necessary accessories. Charge the device battery. Be sure to remove the SIM card. This will protect you from crash caused by SMS or call.
Step 4
Download and install the JAF program. Please use version 1.95 or newer. Launch the specified application and open the BB5 tab. Connect your powered mobile phone to a USB port on your computer.

Activate the Factory Set and Normal Mode items by checking the boxes next to them. Press the INF button. Make sure the phone is detected by the program. Check the current firmware version. It shouldn't be higher than the one you are going to install.
Step 6
Browse to the directory where the new firmware files are located. Select the type of firmware. Click the Flash button. Confirm the launch of the software update process several times by clicking "Yes".
Step 7
Wait for the flashing process to complete. During this, the mobile device may reboot several times in automatic mode. After a while, a message will appear stating that the firmware upgrade procedure has been successfully completed.
Step 8
Disconnect your mobile phone from your computer. Remove the USB cable and restart your device. Customize your phone settings. Remember that the device memory will be completely erased during the firmware upgrade.
