After incorrect configuration of the operating parameters of a personal computer, malfunctions of some devices may occur. In such a situation, it is necessary to return the original PC settings to correct the identified problems.
Necessary
- - Crosshead screwdriver;
- - tweezers.
Instructions
Step 1
Typically, resetting the operating parameters of a laptop and a desktop computer is performed through the BIOS menu. Open it by pressing the Delete key after turning on the PC. In rare cases, you need to press the F2 key. This is usually indicated in the start boot menu.
Step 2
In the main BIOS menu window, find BIOS Default or Use Default Settings. Select it and press Enter. After the warning window opens, press Y. Now select Save & Exit. Confirm saving the parameters. Reboot your computer.
Step 3
Unfortunately, setting some parameters of the central processor can completely disable the computer. In this case, it is necessary to use a mechanical reset method. Disconnect the desktop computer from the AC power.
Step 4
Remove the wall of the system unit. Remove the round-shaped battery from the slot. Use a metal object to close the contacts. Insert the battery back into the slot and close the housing of the unit.
Step 5
In the case of a mobile computer, you must first remove the battery. Take this action. Be sure to unplug your laptop from AC power. Unscrew the screws holding the underside of the housing.
Step 6
Disconnect the required ribbon cables to gain access to the mobile computer system board. Repeat the procedure with the BIOS battery. If it is soldered into the socket, then find the Reset CMOS or CMOS Default button and press it. Sometimes, instead of pressing a button, it is necessary to remove the jumper connecting certain pins. They are usually signed as CMOS Reset. Close them and install a jumper.
Step 7
Assemble your laptop and turn it on. Check the functionality of the mobile computer.
