Step 1
If the phone somehow got into liquid (or was simply exposed to moisture) and then stopped working, proceed as follows: immediately remove the battery from the phone, regardless of the level of damage. Place the phone and battery in a dry place, but never on top of the battery (or anything else hot), the phone should gradually dry out rather than melt.
Step 2
Wait at least a day before trying to turn on your phone. Usually, after getting liquid on the phone, the phone itself works, but only the display fails (it is very sensitive to moisture). After a day, insert the battery into the phone, try to turn it on, if it works, then everything is fine, if half of the functions do not work or do not work, then turn off the phone again.

Next, disassemble the phone (if under warranty, take it to the service center) and thoroughly rinse the board and contacts with alcohol and distilled water. Assemble the phone, turn it on, if it does not work again, then take it to the service center.
Step 4
If the phone stopped working at one point for no apparent reason, this is most likely a software error in the firmware. To fix the problem, proceed as follows: go to the fan site of the brand of your phone (let's analyze it using Motorola as an example, fan site - motofan.ru, find the fan site of another brand in any search), register on it.
Step 5
Then on the site, find a topic that describes step by step the process of flashing your phone, usually such topics are in a prominent place. Download the program with which you will flash the phone (for example, Motorola has RSDLite).
Step 6
Find the firmware that is suitable for your phone (to find out the firmware version, you need to hold down * + # + the power button in the off mode, but the options are different for all brands). Download the firmware.
Step 7
Launch the program, select the firmware file and connect the phone using the data-cable, click Start (or an analogue of this button, all programs are intuitive and similar to each other).
Step 8
After completing the flashing, remove the battery and reinsert it. Switch on your phone.
