When a phone is lost, it often happens that the person who found it simply throws out the SIM card and uses your mobile, unaware that it can be found without it. The same thing happens with theft.
Necessary
- - the passport;
- - documents confirming that the phone belongs to you.
Instructions
Step 1
If you have lost your phone and the SIM card is not available, contact the nearest police station and write a statement on the appropriate form, indicate in it the details of your phone required to identify it. Please note that you will also need to provide documents that confirm your legitimate purchase of this device.
Step 2
If the phone was purchased by you outside the country of your registration, you will need to provide documents on the passage of customs control. You can find out a complete list of documents for filing an application at the nearest ATC office.
Step 3
To find your phone, you need to know its identifier, so please provide the required search information. The IMEI is a unique fifteen-digit code assigned to each mobile phone. When registering in the network of your mobile device, a message is sent to the cellular operator, which indicates the IMEI of the phone. This is done for security purposes, making it pointless to steal the phone in this case, since its basic functions will not be possible to use without registering an identifier with a mobile operator.
Step 4
Check your phone's documentation for the IMEI number. It is usually written on the warranty card, on the phone box, or in the user manual. In Nokia phones, the warranty card is most often found on the last pages of the user manual, and the IMEI number is written on special stickers. Having your ID information is the most important condition for searching for a lost or stolen mobile phone, therefore, documents and packaging should be kept even after the end of the warranty period.
