If you have any problems with the operation of a manipulator of the "mouse" type, called a mouse in everyday life, do not rush to say goodbye to it. Fixing an ordinary wired mouse is quite easy even for a non-professional technician. The most important thing here is to disassemble and assemble this device and not find any "extra" parts after assembly.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the necessary tools for the job. You will need a paper napkin, a knife, a small Phillips screwdriver, and duct tape. In most cases, the reason for the malfunction of the manipulator is a break in the wires inside the cable that connects the computer to the mouse. But the reason may be a dirty wheel or clogged mouse buttons, which often happens with old "ball" manipulators.

Step 2

Unplug the mouse from the power supply and wipe it with a tissue before disassembling. Unscrew the bolts from the bottom of the mouse with a screwdriver and carefully remove the cover (in order to remove it, slide it slightly back and up). It is not worth pressing - manipulations should be carried out with ease, otherwise you can damage the grooves, and the mouse will not assemble properly.

Step 3

Eliminate the problem. If it is found in the cable, repair it and insulate the wires with electrical tape. Insert the wire into the clamp and make sure that it does not interfere with the operation of the moving parts of the manipulator (buttons and wheel). Make sure that the wire does not get into the grooves and edges of the case, otherwise this may cause malfunction or slow operation.

Step 4

Insert the removed upper part of the manipulator cover back into the grooves and connect it to the bottom by hand pressing. Replace the bolts. Before tightening them, turn the bolts counterclockwise a couple of times, which will help to accurately get into the threads.

Step 5

Connect the manipulator to the switched off computer, boot the computer and check the operation of the mouse. However, if the mouse is powered by USB, you do not need to power off the computer. If the manipulator works properly, then everything worked out, and you coped with the problem perfectly. Thus, you can periodically disassemble the manipulator in order to clean it from dust and to prevent breakdowns.
