Step 1
First, purchase a set-top box and a TV tuner. They have two types of signal: digital and analog, which are broadcast through Windows Media Cente and recoded only into analog.
Step 2
First, install and connect the TV tuner and set-top box through a splitter to the network, as all access points must be powered. Install a stationary power rectifier for your personal computer to eliminate utility power outages. Also install an APS station to avoid a crash shutdown that will overwhelm the settings.
Step 3
Connect the patch cord from the TV-out or set-top box to a PC running Windows Media Center. When laying the cable, pay attention to its location. Stretch it so as to avoid mechanical damage. If you have several personal computers on which you want to watch TV, you need to connect a TV tuner and set-top box to each one.
Step 4
Now connect the infrared transmitter to the set-top box and to the computer that comes with the set-top box. It also has a remote control with additional functions. The computer will automatically prompt you to install the necessary drivers for the new hardware. Reboot your PC for full operation.
Step 5
Go to Start and select Run. Next, find the command "TV tuner settings" and search for and program various channels. You will be able to adjust the clarity of the "caught" channel and the sound quality - adjust these parameters. You can also store all channels in memory under numbers convenient for you.
