With the help of Apple gadgets, you can carry in your pocket a whole library of your favorite authors in different languages of the world. To do this, you need to install the free iBooks program on your device and upload books to it.
Necessary
- - iTunes;
- - iPhone, iPod or iPad;
- - iBooks program installed from the AppStore;
- - books in ePub format.
Instructions
Step 1
Install the iBooks book reader on your Apple gadget. To do this, enter the AppStore, enter your password. In the panel below, select Categories> Books> Top Freeware> iBooks and click on the "Free" icon to install the program.
Step 2
Download books directly from the program. To do this, in the upper right corner, click on the "Store" icon. Navigate using the menu located at the bottom of the screen. Use search to find the book you need. You can also use Browse to browse the books in the store by author. In the "Top Charts" you will find the most downloaded literature.
Step 3
The store has both free books and paid ones that you can buy. Select the story you are interested in, click "Free" (or "Buy"). Activate your AppStore account and download the book. It will automatically be installed in iBooks.
Step 4
If you have books on your computer in the required format (ePub), you can transfer them to your gadget. Connect it to a computer with iTunes installed. Wait until your computer and device are fully synchronized. While it is happening, keep track of the directory where the books are located. It is better if they are in the same folder, from which you will not delete them, otherwise, during the next synchronization, they may be deleted from your gadget.
Step 5
iTunes does not have a "default" Books tab. But it will be created automatically when you add them to the program. To do this, place the cursor on any department in the Media Library. Click the File> Add File to Library … tab and select the books you want from the folder created on your computer.
Step 6
The books are added to iTunes, and a new "Books" tab is created in the Library directory. By clicking on it, you will see all the books loaded into the program. Now, to transfer them to iBooks, click on the name of your gadget connected to your computer. In the right corner, click the "Synchronization" command. All new files from iTunes will be added. Wait for the sync to finish and disconnect your device from your computer.
Step 7
To download a text file in ePub format directly from the Internet, without syncing with iTunes, open the page with it in your browser on the device. You will see a picture with an open book, under which the file name and size will be indicated. To upload a text document into the reader, click on the icon in the upper right corner “Open in“iBooks””.
