In order to set up a local network with Internet access, it is recommended to use a router (router). In the case of a wireless network, it is better to purchase a device that supports a Wi-Fi channel.

Instructions
Step 1
Choose a suitable Wi-Fi router. This equipment must meet the requirements of your provider (in this case, we mean a communication channel with a LAN or DSL server) and the characteristics of the wireless devices connected to it.
Step 2
Before configuring the Wi-Fi router, it will need to be flashed, i.e. update the software version of this unit. Visit the official website of your router manufacturer. Find the latest firmware for this model (or similar) and download it.
Step 3
Connect the Wi-Fi router to an electrical outlet. Connect a personal computer or laptop to one of its LAN or Ethernet ports. Use an RJ 45 network cable for this connection.
Step 4
Connect the ISP cable to the Internet (WAN, DSL). Turn on your computer and router. No additional software is required to update the software.
Step 5
Launch an Internet browser and fill in its address bar with the IP address of the Wi-Fi router. The main menu of equipment settings will open on the browser page. Navigate to Main Interface. Find the Browse or Browse button and click it.
Step 6
Specify the firmware file that you downloaded from the official site. Wait for the software update to complete. Reboot the Wi-Fi router if this procedure did not happen automatically.
Step 7
Now you can start setting up Internet access and creating a wireless access point. To do this, open the Internet Setup Settings or WAN and Wireless Setup Settings menu.
Step 8
Be sure to save your settings changes. Reboot the Wi-Fi router again.
