A tablet is an expensive and useful device with many functions. Like any other technology, especially those equipped with fragile touchscreens, it needs careful use and storage, which can be provided by a properly selected case.
Types of covers
The lightest of the cases, which allows you to avoid weighting and increasing the size of the device, is the cover that covers the back and side edges of the tablet. It leaves the screen open, but a small protrusion on the front will still protect it from serious damage and scratches if dropped. Front protection can be provided by an additional polymer plate. Some models are equipped with a rear stand, which is very convenient if you plan to put the device on a horizontal surface and watch a movie or photo slideshow.
The cover, unlike the previous type, covers the device from all sides, including the front. It can also function as a stand. Fixation in the case is carried out using brackets or loops located at the corners, or by attaching to a cover that directly adjoins the edges of the device. For the convenience of the user, some models are equipped with a magnetic sensor that senses the opening of the case and automatically unlocks the device. Some covers come with a built-in miniature keyboard for comfortable typing.
The first two types of covers allow you to use the tablet without taking it out, while the third one cannot boast of such convenience: you have to take it out before starting work. However, such a simple gadget can be sewn on a fabric basis or from leather and its substitutes, which will protect it from dust penetration, scratches, and is made of bulky materials that protect the device inside from mechanical damage in case of a fall or side impact. Some models are waterproof and yet have a transparent side, so you can read the tablet while lying in the bathroom and basking on the inflatable mattress in the pool.
Dimensional compatibility
When buying a cover, be sure to check it for compatibility with the tablet. Usually, its parameters, indicated in inches, imply a similarity with a touchscreen, without taking into account the dimensions of the frame, which vary in different models, so you need to try on a cover for your device directly in the store. When placing an order via the Internet, you can use the feedback form and ask the support employee to send you the exact length and width of the purchased gadget. In most cases, the tablets are equipped with covers already in production, but some of the latter are significantly inferior in quality to those produced separately, therefore, even with the original packaging, it is worth examining the offered assortment in the store.
