Almost everyone loves to listen to music. Everyone has different tastes for music, but everyone needs audio speakers to listen to their favorite music. You can purchase the equipment from the store. But why spend money on the purchase of expensive equipment, if you can give a second life to an old column with your own hands. How can this be done?
Necessary
plexiglass, wood, plastic, bolts, screws, glue, sealant, old column, wires, soldering iron
Instructions
Step 1
The first step is to check the old column for performance. Study the location of the wires carefully. After that, proceed to disassemble the old case. All wires must be carefully removed from the grooves. Try to disassemble the old case, and not break it, as you can inadvertently damage the wires or the speakers themselves. Examine the condition of the wires. If necessary, they must be replaced with new ones. Never pull off old wires. They need to be carefully unsoldered, cleaned up the soldering points and soldered new ones.
Step 2
Now you need to think about a new enclosure for your speaker. First of all, decide on the material from which the body will be made. For this purpose, plexiglass, wood, plywood, plastic are suitable - you choose. It all depends on where and in what conditions your speaker will be located. The easiest way to make a body is from wood, as this material is easy to process. The plexiglass body will look very beautiful and unusual.
Step 3
Think over the shape of the future corps. Make a detailed drawing. The success of making the box will depend on the correctness of the drawing. The fewer errors and inaccuracies in the drawing, the less damaged material will be. Make all the parts for the body. Get your first fitting. Check if they fit snugly together. If everything fits exactly, then start the assembly. You can use nails, screws, or glue when joining parts. Collect all parts except the back of the case.
Step 4
Install the speaker into the front of the box. Attach it with a sealant to get rid of the smallest gaps in the joint. Then carefully lay the wires in the housing. They should not bend or break much. It is best to secure them inside the case. In the hole through which the wires will be removed, you need to lay a gasket. After that, attach the back wall of the case and check the performance of the made column.
