After purchasing the iPad, many new owners are wondering about installing their own SIM card in the tablet. The difficulty of inserting a standard operator card lies in the fact that the tablet uses a relatively new format of card slots - MicroSIM, which is almost half the size of the classic one.
Necessary
- - scissors;
- - pencil;
- - ruler.
Instructions
Step 1
Before inserting the SIM into the device, you will need to cut your standard card. To do this, use scissors. Measure your SIM with a ruler. It should be about 25 mm high. Then, using a pencil, mark the sim card around 15 mm.
Step 2
Cut off the unnecessary part of the SIM along the markings using scissors. The operation must be performed as carefully as possible so as not to damage the card chip, otherwise it will become unusable.
Step 3
In case you do not want to cut the SIM-card yourself, you can contact any mobile phone shop to cut the card or replace it with a real Micro-SIM.
Step 4
Remove the SIM card holder from your iPad. The card slot is located at the bottom left of the device. IPad version 2 and older also has a connector on the left, but it has been moved to the top of the device. The substrate can be removed using the special key supplied with the device or an ordinary paper clip.
Step 5
Place your card on the backing. If you performed the trimming procedure yourself, check if the card fits snugly in this slot. If necessary, trim the card with scissors, then insert it back into the device.
Step 6
Start the device and check if the network is working properly. If the SIM is successfully installed, you will see the sensor and the name of the network used in the top panel of the screen. If the machine cannot find the network, restart it. If the network is still not detected, try pulling and inserting the card again.
