Many people use special gadgets to get new sound effects when playing the game. Depending on their type, they provide different sound distortions. Newbies may have questions regarding the connection of such a device.
Instructions
Step 1
The gadget is usually connected using cables with jack plugs. Power is supplied either with several batteries, or by connecting to an electrical network using a power supply.
Step 2
Take your guitar and connect the cable to the appropriate jack. Insert the other end into the gadget connector, near which In is written - this is the input connector to which the sound should be fed. After that, take a second cable, one end of which connect to the gadget's output connector (indicated by Out), and the other to the device to which you want to send sound, for example, to a combo amplifier or a mixing console.
Step 3
Tune your guitar sound. To do this, use the appropriate switch between pickups, as well as volume, timbre, tone, etc. Turn on the audio playback device, adjust the output sound level. After that, using the available controls on the gadget, set the required distortion parameters and press the pedal (or button) to turn it on.
Step 4
For playing the electric guitar, the gadget can also be plugged directly into a regular computer sound card. To do this, you will need either a cable with a Jack-connector on one side and a miniJack on the other, or a corresponding adapter. If you use a professional or semi-professional sound card, an adapter is most likely not required, since such cards are equipped with Jack connectors.
Step 5
Connect the cable from the gadget to the Line-In connector on the computer sound card. As a rule, it is indicated in blue for convenience. After that select "Start" -> "Control Panel" -> "Sound" and open the "Recording" tab. Find the recording device you are using, double click on it and adjust the sound level.
