Some keyboards have a special NumPad that allows you to enter numbers when NumLock is on. This is especially convenient when working in accounting programs, as well as when used to control various computer games.

keyboard with NumPad
Instructions
Step 1
Activate the NumLock mode by pressing the button with the corresponding name, this will turn on the mode for entering numbers from the side keyboard. You can also type numbers using the upper numeric keypad, which is turned on by default, but this is not always convenient, especially for those who are used to working with a calculator. Note that no additional steps are required to enable the top keyboard.
Step 2
Enable NumLock with a special combination suitable for your computer model Fn + NumLock, Fn + Alt + NumLock, and so on. This is true for those keyboard models that do not have a numeric keypad, as well as for some laptops and netbooks. Input is carried out using the usual buttons of the alphabetic keyboard, on which numbers are also written on top.
Step 3
When using this mode, watch the spelling of letters and change it to avoid mistakes in the text. When you turn the NumPad on and off, the corresponding icon is usually highlighted on the screen.
Step 4
If your laptop, keyboard or netbook model does not have a side numeric keypad, and you often have to use a calculator or other programs that involve entering numbers, purchase a special side panel that connects to your computer using a USB interface. It works on the same principle - it turns on when you press NumLock, and when the mode is off, its buttons have additional functionality, which is quite convenient to use in computer games.
Step 5
Such keyboards can be purchased at specialty computer peripheral stores, at points of sale of household appliances, and so on. They are wired and wireless (they work like a wireless mouse), the latter are more convenient to use in laptop computers.
