If your system unit makes a lot of noise, then you need to clean the fans. Reducing the rotational speed of coolers sometimes helps, but this procedure must be performed very carefully.
Necessary
- - crosshead screwdriver;
- - SpeedFan.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn off the computer and remove the covers from the system unit. Find the fan you want. Detach it from the equipment. This usually requires unscrewing several screws. Disconnect the power cable that goes to the motherboard or device that has a fan.
Step 2
Now soak a cotton pad in a mild alcohol solution (you can use cologne). Gently wipe the cooler blades. Make sure the fan is completely free of dust. Now plug in the power cord and turn on your computer. Check the fan noise.
Step 3
If this part still makes a lot of noise, unplug it from the computer again. Remove the sticker located on the top of the cooler. If there is a plastic cover under it, remove it. Now remove the rubber ring and plastic washer from the pivot. Remove the blades from this axle.
Step 4
Lubricate the pivot pin carefully and apply a small amount of grease to the hole. Assemble the cooler and connect it to the computer, securing the device securely.
Step 5
If you are dealing with a non-separable fan, then after removing the sticker, simply apply a small amount of grease to the opening that opens. Install the cooler back.
Step 6
If the fan still makes too much noise after these procedures, install the SpeedFan software. Run it and study the indicators of the sensors. If the temperature of the device to which the noisy fan is connected fluctuates below the permissible level, then reduce the rotational speed of the cooler blades. To do this, press the Down button several times.
Step 7
Now run the application that requires the active operation of the equipment on which this fan is installed. After about 20 minutes, close the application and make sure that the temperature is within acceptable limits.
