Necessary

Sony sound Forge software, audio file to remove noise

Instructions

Step 1

To remove noise from a song, you need Sony Sound Forge (you can also use Adobe Audition). Small programs are not suitable for a high-quality solution to the problem, because removing noise completely without losing quality of the audio file is not an easy task.

Step 2

There are also several plugins included with Sony Sound Forge; Noise Reduction and Noise Gate are used to suppress noise. The second plug-in uses a simpler sound cleaning algorithm, it is suitable for removing noise in pauses when there are no sounds in a given area. To remove noise in difficult places, you need to use the Noise Reduction plugin, it is more flexible and efficient.

Step 3

Run the program and open the file for noise reduction in it. Listen to it and find the place where the noise is heard best. Highlight this area, it is desirable that it was without extraneous sounds. Open the Tools menu at the top of the window and select the Noise Reduction plugin. In the window that opens, check the Capture Noiseprint box and click the Preview button. With this action you add the “noisy” area to the plugin.

Step 4

Then click the Stop button and uncheck the Capture Noiseprint item, then go to the Noiseprint tab. On it you will see a visual graph of your noise. Right-click on Real-Time and select Select All Data.

Step 5

Click the Preview button, a window with six sliders will open. Start adjusting the squelch by changing their position. Basically, you will need two sliders - Reduction type (changes the noise reduction algorithm) and Reduce noise by (db) (changes the amount of noise reduction). After setting, listen to the composition, if the optimal result is achieved, press the Ok button and save the file. If some of the noise remains, return to the settings and continue working until the noise is completely removed.
