The smartphone screen can be protected using available tools, such as glass. Glass is especially useful if your screen is cracked. It will not allow the broken screen to collapse further.

Necessary

Glass cutter, ruler, felt-tip pen, sandpaper, transparent adhesive tape, ordinary glass with a thickness of 2 mm, napkin, glass cleaning liquid

Instructions

Step 1

Cut out a rectangle to fit the screen from ordinary window glass with a thickness of no more than two millimeters, taking into account the location (if any) of the mechanical button on the surface below and the speaker hole on top of the working screen. That is, a piece of glass fits between them. The main thing is that the glass extends at least a couple of millimeters beyond the edges of the touch surface of the display itself. You can order glasses of the required size and shape in the glass workshop. Protective goggles should be worn when cutting and processing glass.

Step 2

Slightly sand all sharp edges and corners with sandpaper. Sandpaper will work with a grit number - "p80" or something like that.

Step 3

We clean both surfaces (both the screen and glass) from dust and dirt. Cut out two tapes of about 5x2 cm from the adhesive tape. It is advisable to use a wide type of adhesive tape and not stationery. It is thicker and more durable.

Step 4

We press the finished glass to the screen and fix it on the sides with these pieces of tape.

You can stick adhesive tape on a smartphone without a back cover, and then put it on top (if the design of your smartphone model allows). Then there will be no need to peel off this tape every time when there will be a need to change the SIM card or battery. You can also fix the glass with epoxy droplets on the sides.

Step 5

Pros of a protective screen:

- now you can safely carry it in your pocket with keys, in your bag, squeeze it in your hand, press the screen with your finger without fear of scratching or crushing it.

- regular glass is relatively fragile, but cheap. Almost free. When the glass falls, it takes a hit, it breaks, saving the screen.

Cons of protective glass:

- the smartphone will become a little thicker and heavier;

- the weakening of the sensitivity of the touchscreen through the glass with a thickness of 2 mm is hardly noticeable.
