A modern musician working with electronic music formats cannot do without computer technology in his work, just as he cannot do without specialized musical equipment. To improve their work and make music creation even more interesting and versatile, musicians connect mixing consoles to their computers, which gives them a lot of new possibilities.
Instructions
Step 1
First, take a look at the rear panel of your mixer, which contains several inputs and connectors.
Step 2
When you connect a computer to the mixer, your machine will become a signal source - for example, if you connect it to the line input with the appropriate Line In cable. After this connection, the computer will give a stereo signal to one of the channels.
Step 3
To record music via a computer, connect the Master or Booth output to the computer connector using a cable with a 3, 5 stereo jack on one end and two RCA connectors on the other. The connection in this case also goes through the line input.
Step 4
These connection methods will be the only possible ones for your computer if you have an ordinary, not multi-channel soundcard installed. Using the card, you can output two stereo signals to the two mixer channels for better computer sound mixing.
Step 5
To affect the parameters of computer programs for working with sound through a mixer, the mixer must have a USB output, or that it supports midi.
Step 6
In any case, connecting the mixer to a computer using an audio cable is the most optimal and versatile option, which cannot be replaced by just a USB connection of the device to a computer.
