Advantages and disadvantages of changing the Android version

It is possible to highlight some of the advantages of updating the firmware: getting rid of restrictions, improved functionality, eliminating systematic failures in previous versions, and simply having the latest version of the Android system. But installing a new Android firmware on a tablet computer can be detrimental if you choose the wrong update version for your model or make mistakes during the installation process. In this case, the tablet may stop functioning, after which you will have to contact the service.

Another danger of flashing is the installation of unofficial updates, the modified drivers of which can cause your device to work abnormally. Such exploitation of your computer leads to wear and tear of the device and its failure over time.

First, get superuser privileges - root. This procedure is necessary in order to install the ROM Manager program, with which the flashing is performed. There are many applications for gaining root privileges such as Universal Androot, GingerBreak, Z4Root and others. As a rule, in these applications, it is enough to press the Root device button.

After obtaining superuser privileges, you must immediately download and install ROM Manager, the versions of which are free and paid. The premium version allows you to download and install new versions of updates for your tablet directly from the application itself. In the free version, finding the required firmware becomes your task.

After the installation of the ROM Manager app is complete, go to its main menu and install ClockworkMod. Remember to save a system backup as a safety precaution by activating the Save current ROM option.

Before installing Android on your tablet, download the new version to your memory card and insert it into your device. Then put the tablet on charge, wait until the battery is fully charged, disconnect all cables and devices from the tablet computer except the charger, then turn on the ROM Manager and click on the Install ROM from SD Card button. The firmware update will take about 15-30 minutes. The first download of Android will take about the same time.

If the Android symbol with an exclamation mark appears after downloading the firmware, you need to restore the system. To do this, click on the exclamation mark. In the menu that opens, select Install ZIP from SD Card. Then activate the Toggle signature verification command, then click on the Choose ZIP from SD Card button and select the firmware downloaded to the memory card.

To revert to the old firmware version, download the ROM Manager again and click on Backups. In the list that opens, find the previously saved version and select it, after which it will be installed.
