Do you enjoy using a clipper at home, but over time, its blades become dull, it becomes inconvenient to cut? You can sharpen the blades yourself with a clipper.
Instructions
Step 1
Dull knives are easy to spot. Their blades are arranged in such a way that both sharpened metal planes, on which the combs are located, are very tightly pressed against each other. One of the blades is static, while the other moves relative to the first. The combs lift and guide the hair, and the blades cut it. This results in an even cut of the same length. If the knives are dull, then after the machine there are uneven cuts and individual hairs have different lengths. This leads to unpleasant sensations, since the machine grabs the hair, but does not cut it, but crushes and damages the structure.
Step 2
Blades are usually sharpened in workshops. There is all the necessary tools, special machines, work is done quickly and efficiently. After such sharpening, you will not distinguish whether it is a new knife or an already used one.
Step 3
For self-sharpening, spin the machine, take out the blades, wipe them thoroughly with a brush. Sharpen knives by hand on grinding stones. Just keep in mind that such a sharpening will not be of high quality, so you will not be able to use the machine for a long time. Moreover, manual sharpening is too time-consuming. Be careful not to jag on the knife.
Step 4
Use a special machine to sharpen the blades. Fix the knife in it and sharpen evenly with a special rotating bar. Work very carefully, it is better to wear glasses and gloves so as not to damage your eyes with dust. After sharpening, wipe the blades again, lubricate them with special lubricating oil or watch oil, re-assemble the machine.
Step 5
To keep the blades sharp for as long as possible, take good care of your clipper while in use. After each haircut, clean the blades of the cut hairs with a special brush for clippers. It is better if the bristles on it are of medium hardness. If you don't have one, use an old toothbrush. Lubricate the machine periodically with lubricating oil and store in a dry place.
