It is necessary

  • - screwdriver;
  • - instruction.

Instructions

Step 1

Make sure it is necessary to disable this mode in your computer, and in case of malfunctions, make sure that it is connected with the RAM. With the Dual Channel DDR mode enabled, rearrange the RAM strips to other slots, if there are no free ones, just swap them. In rare cases, this helps, however, first read the section of the motherboard manual on how to connect RAM modules to enable this mode, and then do everything in the reverse order.

Step 2

Go to the BIOS of your computer. This is done in most cases by pressing the Delete button when the boot screen appears, however, for some motherboard models, another key may also be provided, for example, F1, F2, Esc and so on, the main thing is to pay attention to the inscription “Press Delete to enter setup”, respectively, instead of Delete, any other keyboard button can be specified.

Step 3

If necessary, enter the password to enter the BIOS, and then find the Dual Channel DDR parameter or another similar name in its menu. Set it to Disabled, then exit the program and save the changes.

Step 4

Carefully study the instructions for your motherboard model and find out the sequence of installing the RAM brackets to disable the dual-channel mode. If this is not provided in your instructions, download a new one according to the model of your device.

Step 5

Please note that the dual-channel RAM mode works only in the case of an even number of strips in the slots of the motherboard, so you can solve the problem by installing only one RAM strip. If you leave, for example, 3 pieces, the first two of them will work in two-channel mode.
