Even the most expensive scissors lose their sharpness sooner or later. If buying new ones becomes more expensive than sharpening old ones, use a sharpener.
Necessary
- Sharpening machine;
- Device for dressing an abrasive wheel TT-50;
- Double-sided stone SP-650;
- Wooden block;
- Scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on the machine and fill with water by rotating the abrasive wheel. When the circle stops picking up water, bring its level in the cuvette to normal.
Step 2
Straighten the circle with the TT-50 if necessary. Level its work surface with a double-sided stone.
Step 3
Clamp the blade of the scissors in one part of the machine. If the scissors are small, use one clamp, if large - fix with two.
Step 4
Put the second part on the caliper and secure with the screw. Adjust the angle required for sharpening.
Step 5
Place the machine in working position. Minimize the gap between the machine and the abrasive wheel.
Step 6
Take the scissors clamped in a mandrel, place them on the machine and lower them onto a rotating abrasive stone.
Step 7
Thread the scissors blade evenly along its entire length. Make sure that the second blade does not come into contact with the sharpening surface.
