The presence of a video camera connected directly to a personal computer or laptop allows video communication with another person in the presence of special additional programs. It often happens that when you launch such programs, the camcorder turns on automatically. How can I turn it off?
Instructions
Step 1
If you have a Windows operating system, use the standard means that this system is equipped with to turn off the camcorder. For this you do not need any additional installation of any software.
Step 2
Press the "Start" button - thereby you will bring up the main system menu. Select "Control Panel" if you need to disable the built-in video camera.
Step 3
Select "Printers and other equipment", and then follow the link "Scanners and cameras".
Step 4
In the window that opens, select the name (title) of the camera that you want to disable, and double-click on it with the left mouse button. Check the box next to "Disable" and click on the "Save" or "OK" button. Thus, the camera will be disabled.

Step 7
If you want to turn off the video camera not on a personal computer, but on a laptop, use the combination of the Fn and F keys (by pressing them simultaneously, you can turn off or turn on the video camera).
Step 8
If the Linux operating system is installed on your personal computer or laptop, you can turn off the video camera using a special command directly in the terminal - modprobe -r uvcvideo.

If for some reason you cannot turn off the camcorder yourself, contact your friends or relatives who are familiar with technology. Ask how you can reconfigure the video communication later.
