When buying a plasma TV, you need to check it thoroughly. In addition to visual analysis of the state of the TV, there are more detailed methods for assessing its quality.
Necessary
- - TFT Test;
- - HDMI-HDMI cable.
Instructions
Step 1
Naturally, the first step is to evaluate the appearance of the selected TV. Make sure there are no scratches, dents or other defects. Turn on the TV and visually assess the picture quality.
Step 2
Now use the TFT Test program. It works with Windows operating systems, so connect your plasma TV to your PC or laptop. It is better to use digital channels for this, such as DVI or HDMI.
Step 3
After making this connection, open the TV settings menu and select the port to be used by the input source. Open the display settings on your laptop and select the TV graphic. Activate the Make this screen my primary option. Run the TFT Test program.
Step 4
Select the used TV screen resolution, color depth and refresh rate, for example 1366x768, 32 bit and 60 Hz. Click on the Filled Screen icon. Examine your TV display carefully for dead pixels. Press the "Right" arrow on your keyboard to change screens. Some pixels may not work correctly with a certain color. Repeat this process, examining the display with all available colors. Press Esc to exit this menu.
Step 5
Now open the Grid menu and make sure the screen is divided into even squares. Press the left mouse button to change the background of the grid. Perform a similar procedure after opening the "Circles" menu.
Step 6
Click on the "Moving Square" icon. Examine the data displayed in the upper left corner. Make sure the display maintains a consistent screen refresh rate. Find out the delay in displaying the image.
Step 7
Perform the same analysis of the TV condition by opening the Moving Lines menu. Play a high definition and good quality video and enjoy the image displayed by the TV screen.
